This year, I have this amazing view from my classroom.
Love that I can see the mountains, and all the activity that happens below when there’s a PE class or a game against another school.
It’s hard to tell in the photo, but there’s even a map of Canada etched out on the field, courtesy of a social studies class. (Long since rubbed out by PE classes).
Mostly, what I appreciate about this view is that it reminds me that school (and the 80 minutes that students spend with me) is just one part of their world. Sometimes high school is so compartmentalized that I forget about the other experiences it offers to students.
